So you know those pictures. The before pictures of our upstairs remodel - the ones that I lost?
Yeah, they're still gone. But I did find a few [not very good] pics of the upstairs from before.
When you looked up the stairs, this is what you used to see:
No, not Sawyer. A wall and a door that led to the upstairs bedroom/office. Then I saw this post on CreateGirl and decided the wall had to go. We're not going for the exact same look, but something similar.
Now, this is what you see when you look up the stairs:
See? No wall!
And this is the view from the top of the stairs, post wall removal:
And a view from the window:
Doesn't look like much right now, I know, but it's amazing the difference removing a wall can make. Matthew's still in the process of finishing up sheetrock where the wall once was. It's a long process. A lot of patch and wait.
The good news - most of the new wiring is done and we have light! One light, but we have light, nonetheless. It also means that we again have two functioning (well, semi-functioning - would be functioning if it weren't full of all that junk from upstairs) bathrooms.
So far, Matthew and I haven't even come close to killing each other over the whole renovation. Surprising, since we've only had one bathroom and pretty much our entire house is displaced. I'll let you know if that's still the case in another week or two. My money's on NOT A CHANCE.
Just like a show on HGTV. Excited to see the finished product.

WOW!!! I can't wait to see it in person. Tell Matthew that I think his next project should be re-doing the shower to match the one on the link from CreateGirl. : )
